Friends of the Overlooked

Posted by

In an effort to generate some ideas for a new organization called, Friends of the Overlooked, I was able to lead a quick samoan circle exercise at the Knowlton School of Architecture in an undergraduate public participation course.  The students first watched this video, and then were asked to generate ideas for three types of overlooked spaces.

1. Urban Parking Lot
2. Urban Overpass/Underpass
3. Alleyway

They divided into 8 groups of 8 and did samoan circles.  Lots of great ideas were generated.

Here are a few photos from the idea generating exercise.
