I was asked to facilitate a small workshop on walkability for a local middle school biking group. Unfortunately, I was unable to physically attend, so I put together 2 quick videos and a walk audit worksheet for the girls to complete. The purpose is for them to get their creative juices flowing about what makes a place walkable, and if their community is not walkable, for them to think about what improvements could happen in order to make their neighborhood a better place. The girls in the program have an appointment with the Mayor of Columbus to talk about what they have learned about their community.. This study will only fortify their findings through hard evidence about what is the reality of their streets. Enjoy!
